Since 2008, the Harambee Gwassi-Kenya Charity Shop and Events in Second Life® are dedicated to fundraising for the IKSDP Schools close to the Lake Victoria, one of the poorest areas of Kenya.

'Harambee' in Swahili means 'working together' and is the spirit behind the activities of the Harambee Gwassi-Kenya Charity Shop and -Events in Second Life®.

Since 2008, the Harambee Gwassi-Kenya Charity Shop and Events in Second Life® are dedicated to fundraising for the IKSDP Schools, located on the shores of Lake Victoria, one of the poorest areas of Kenya.

At the IKSDP Project Italians and Africans work side by side with equal dignity, sharing efforts and successes. The IKSDP is engaged in sustainable self-development projects: from nursery school to college for teachers, helping the local community grow through study, art workshops, social and sportive activities and sustainable farming.

The Harambee Gwassi-Kenya Charity Shop Second Life® offers a wide range of decorative objects, furnishings, plants & landscapes, arrangements for parties and Weddings, great buildings, textures, fashion and accessories like jewelry.

Beyond the shop there is also frequently a market with many vendors, who support Harambee with the sales of their products and other activities like music events and treasure hunts on the Bunny Isles.

The proceeds from virtual sales and all donations in the events are given to support the "IKSDP-Harambee Project Gwassi Kenya", a non-profit organization in Real Life. Our first success in 2009 was to rebuild a small school and then it continues!

Together we can grow, one step at a time with the pace of Africa: little by little and a little becomes a lot!
