That story began with a spark of inspiration in 2006, when a young creator named Twstd Ruggles was invited to help design a faithful virtual replica of Oahu, including a powerful and reverent rendering of the USS Arizona Memorial. Her role, at the time, was to help manage and shape a place that would capture the culture, landscapes, and emotions of the real island. But the years would see the island pass through the hands of multiple owners, each leaving their mark, until fate brought it full circle. One year ago, Twstd reclaimed the island under her own name—not just as a manager, but as its true and rightful owner. With that ownership came transformation: a re-branding, a resurrection, and a renaissance.

Twstd wasn’t alone in this new chapter. Alongside her now stands CharlesCaringles Resident, her creative and business partner, with whom she co-develops the resort’s expansive offerings. Together, they craft not only the spaces and experiences that make Oahu so magical, but also the custom scripted products found in their in-world shop, OPIC – Oahu Paradise Island Creations, a souvenir and gift boutique filled with island inspired keepsakes. With their combined vision and deep reverence for the islands, Oahu Paradise Resort has blossomed into something more than a destination—it has become a living world of its own.
